Ricchi e Poveri
Ricchi e Poveri was formed in Genoa in 1967, with original members Angela Brambati, Marina Occhiena, Franco Gatti, and Angelo Sotgiu. In 1981, Marina left the group to pursue a solo career, and Franco followed in 2016 for family reasons. In February 2020, the original quartet reunited for a special occasion: the 50th anniversary of their first hit, “La prima cosa bella.”
Hugely popular during the 1970s and 1980s, they achieved international success with songs like “Che sarà,” “Sarà perché ti amo,” “Mamma Maria,” and “Voulez-vous danser.” They competed 12 times at the Sanremo Festival, which they won in 1985 with “Se m’innamoro.”
In 2017, they released the single “Marikita”, featured in the soundtrack of the film Poveri ma Ricchi. In 2018, they celebrated their 50th career anniversary with a special tour. In 2021, they released a double album titled “Reunion”, which included a special collaboration with José Feliciano to commemorate the 50th anniversary of “Che sarà.”
In February 2024, they returned to the Sanremo Festival with the hit “Ma non tutta la vita,” which quickly went viral across digital platforms. That same year, they also released the singles “Aria” and the Spanish version of their hit, titled “Pero no toda la vida.”
Currently on an international tour following multiple sold-out shows, Ricchi e Poveri remain highly sought-after guests on television and at music events, continuing their active and successful career.
